Network
Operations
The backbone
of our network is a SONET self-healing ring that gives
us redundancy through 3 central offices. This is made
up of two OC-3 Fiber Racks and one OC-12 Fiber Rack.
This virtually eliminates the risk of a single point
of failure. We guarantee 99.9% uptime to all our
hosting and outsourcing customers.
We
have multiple DS-3 circuits for backbone connectivity
running BGP-4 with our Peers (Sprint, Bellsouth.net
and Cable & Wireless) to insure the availability
of our network. No single provider can ensure 100% uptime,
that is why we diversify our connectivity to three carriers.
We maintain a minimum of 20% above peak spikes in excess
bandwidth. When 20% is exceeded, we increase our backbone
to insure top performance of our network.
Our servers
sit on a Cisco-powered network with redundant Cisco
7500 series routers at the core and Cisco Catalyst Layer
3 switches to ensure 99.9% uptime of our network. All
maintenance is scheduled at our lowest traffic times
and typically is completed with virtually no effect
on network performance and usually no downtime for our
customers.
Our advanced
power system protects against all nine power problems:
Power Failure (A total Loss of utility power), Power
Sag (short-term low voltage), Power Surge (also known
as spike), Undervoltage (also know as a Brownout), Overvoltage
(increased line voltage for extended periods of time),
Electrical Line Noise (High frequency waveform interference),
Frequency Variation (a change in frequency stability),
Switching Transient (instantaneous undervoltage shorter
in duration than a spike measured in nanoseconds) and
Harmonic Distortion (distortion of the normal waveform).
In addition to the power conditioning described above,
we also have automatic local power generation capabilities
with 48 hours of reserve fuel on-site. We have arrangements
with fuel suppliers for high-priority delivery even
in the event of a major disaster.
Our Network
Operations Center is located on the second floor to
ensure no flood risk. The environment of our facility
is controlled by Dual Commercial Grade 15 Ton Air Conditioning
Units to insure the optimum server environment.
The center
is manned 24x7x365 by a staff of network engineers and
24-hour physical security and positive access controls
are maintained.
